Friday the 24th of August the US Nationals in Tomah kick off with a development camp. Joel Olofsson, with a coaching background from the top league in the world, is one of the coaches leading the camp.

Joel Olofsson is the head coach of the Men U19’s US National teams as well as assistant coach of the Men’s US national team and he has been part of many development camps in the past and is well prepared for this one.

“We will be focusing on the three fundamentals, passing, shooting and ball handling,” said Olofsson. “Participants can expect a lot of floorball, both on and off the court. It will be a chance to meet equals that love floorball and hopefully learn some new stuff. “

Between events Joel Olofsson can be found in Helsingborg in Sweden where he has coached in the Swedish Super League as well as on many youth teams. Experience that makes him perfectly suited as one of the people running the camp.

“I would recommend the development camp for anyone that loves floorball and wants to develop themselves in the game. It’s for everybody. We are focusing on the individual so it doesn’t matter what age you are or how long you have played,” he said.

USA Floorball is always looking for players for the US Nationals teams and the development camp is the perfect showcase no matter what national team you are interested in.

“All players with national team aspirations will be evaluated. Even if all four teams will have representation in Tomah we all work together and share our information.”

There is still plenty of time to sign up for the development camp that is set to kick off at 2 pm on Friday the 24th and Olofsson hopes to see you there.

“I love to meet other people that are as passionate about floorball as I am. And my experience from former camps at the Nationals is that everybody is very eager to learn and develop and that is very inspiring,” he says.
