International Floorball Federation, IFF, Secretary General, John Liljelund, will conduct a 2-day Floorball coaching education seminar in conjunction with the 2019 World Floorball Championship Qualification event at Brownstown Sports Center  in Detroit, Michigan.  To register, see details below.

The seminar consists of three segments, where the first segment takes place Friday morning, February 8th at 8:00AM and is run by Jukka Kotti from the North Texas Floorball Association and Patrick Jesue, the founder of Detroit Floorball Club and hockey director at Brownstown.  During this 4-hour segment, we will cover the basics of Floorball; both on and off the court.

Friday afternoon, starting at 1:00 PM, John Liljelund takes over from Jukka and Patrick with a review of the history of Floorball and the IFF leading up to where they are today. Next, John will cover important topics such as how to prepare for practices and matches, how to create a great team structure and details such as corner situations and fixed situations e.g. the critical situation of free hits in front of the net.

The training will move on to team tactics and individual tactics covering the Four Player Roles and more on Saturday, February 9th at 9:00AM to 2:00PM.  Considering the similarities with ice hockey, we will go over why Floorball is good for ice hockey and vice verse as well as skills that are transferable between the two sports.  We will also be reviewing game situation videos and more.

For more details on the agenda, see the following link.

This is a very rare opportunity to learn from the best people in Floorball in the World.  The seminar is open to anyone interested in increasing the knowledge about Floorball.  The cost for participation is $25 per person; payable by cash or check.  Make your check out to “USA Floorball”.  To sign-up, send an email to anders@usfba.org.
