2017 MU19 WFC - USA vs Australia 144

USA Floorball is currently seeking people with a passion for the future of floorball in the states that are ready to dedicate themselves to the development of the men’s and the men’s U19 national team respectively.

We are looking for a general manager for the men’s and a general manager for the men’s U19 team, two separate positions with a lot of communication between them.

The position of general manager is a diverse one covering everything from securing staff to players for the team as well as planning events i.e. development camps, WFCs, and beyond. The position requires communication with representatives of the International Floorball Federation and an ability to build relationships with the IFF and other member countries. The role is also flexible and can be defined depending on the staff you work with. It takes a lot of time but also gives a lot back in the form of working with passionate people and creating relationships that last a lifetime.

Among the most common current tasks are
- Find staff for team (head coach, assistant coach, equipment manager etc.)
- Sign up for and plan for the WFC
- Help plan development camps
- Be the first contact point for players
- Scout players or organize scouting of players
- Ensure team is aware and complies with USA Floorball and IFF rules

In general there is a development camp per year and an IFF event or two every other year (WFCQ and possibly WFC). Besides camp(s) the big goals for the MU19 is the WFC in Halifax, Canada, in May 2019 and for the Men the WFCQ in February 2020 followed by the the WFC, if qualification is successful, and then World Games in Birmingham in 2021!

The general manger position is a volunteer position, i.e. not paid, and the general manager reports to the USA Floorball board. The initial agreement will be dependent on position, for the MU19 over the coming WFC, for the men over the coming WFCQ after which there will be a bigger evaluation.

US-based applicants are preferred but it is not a requirement.
