New Coaching Staff Set for the Women’s National Team!

USA Floorball is pleased to announce that Daniel Dalbjer, head coach of Sweden’s IBF Falun’s Women’s Team, has accepted the position of head coach for the US Women’s National Floorball Team.

Daniel Dalbjer brings enormous experience with proven success in Sweden’s top floorball league. A new assistant coach and equipment manager of whom have been selected by Dalbjer will also be joining the staff roster.

“USA Floorball has a long tradition of making a name for themselves in the Floorball world. I’m excited to take on the role of head coach for the USA Women’s Team during the next World Floorball Championships (WFC) in Uppsala, Sweden in 2021. I’m looking forward to adding my experience from the court to help develop this team further. My staff and I will do everything we can to help USA Floorball maintain its tradition of Floorball excellence and help the Women’s Team leave their mark on the next WFC,” says Dalbjer.

Since their first WFC appearance in 2003 the Women’s Team has maintained a steady overall world rating, with their best finish reaching 9th place, in 2007 & 2011.

“This is significant news for Team USA as we aim to advance our national teams. The organization is investing in strengthening its infrastructure, and the Women’s Team, specifically, will be intensifying its player and staff preparation more than ever before,” says Team General Manager, Alyssa Hall.

When ask of her thoughts, Team Manager, Ann Lövgren, stated, “I’m so happy for the team and the existing staff now that we have a new coaching staff with not only great experience in floorball, but also that of coaching women on a higher level. This will give the right injection to take the team to the next level as there is great potential for this team to improve in competition play. The challenge for the new staff will be harnessing a team scattered over many countries, with few annual meetings, and financial challenges. A warm welcome to our new team members!”

The new staff will appear in their first official competition with Team USA in the upcoming 2021 Women’s WFC Qualifying games in Toronto, Canada on January 29-31, 2021. Winners of the back to back games will head to the WFC in Uppsala, Sweden on November 27-December 5, 2021.
