Vidar Jonsson-Wallin Set as Assistant Coach!

At this time we are pleased to announce that long time SSL-coach Vidar Jonsson-Wallin is set for the United States men’s national team at the World Floorball Championships 2020 in Helsinki, Finland. We also want to take a moment to present a few other members of the staff for the WFC.

After Stefan Hedlund had to step down as assistant coach due to personal reason the search has been on for his replacement and it couldn’t have ended any better.

“I’m very pleased to add Vidar to the staff. I know him well from Helsingborg and his long floorball experience will help the team be it’s best at the WFC,” says head coach Joel Olofsson.

Vidar Jonsson-Wallin is the current assistant coach for FC Helsingborg in the Swedish Super League. His coaching career started in 2004 in the first division with IK Stanstad and he has coached on many SSL-teams since, both as head and assistant coach.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with the American team and experience USA floorball. I wan’t to contribute to the team winning games in Helsinki,“ says team USA assistant coach Vidar Jonsson-Wallin.

USA Floorball is also pleased to announce that Ari Huttunen is on the staff as team manager as well as equipment manager and that former player David Brown has joined the staff as assistant manager. Finally Julia Olofsson has joined the staff as physiotherapist.

The men’s World Floorball Championships 2020 will take place in Helsinki, Finland the 3rd to the 11th of December 2021. Team USA start out by facing Slovakia at the Helsinki Ice Hall 2 on Friday the 3rd of December at 16:45 local time.
