Women’s U19 Prepares for 2020 Uppsala World Championships

USA Floorball’s Women’s Under 19 National Team played an exhibition game against the Men’s Under 19 in Lynchburg, VA in order to practice for the upcoming WFC in Uppsala next year.

In order to build a cohesive group of players for the upcoming Under 19 WFC in Uppsala, Sweden, the Under 19 Women’s National Team traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia in the beginning of August to be part of the 2019 US Nationals and the State Games of America.

In conjunction with the above event, the U19 girls’ team played an 3×15 minutes (effective time) exhibition game against the U19 boys’ team.  The match was recorded by Trent Kling of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  The recording can be viewed here.

Anna Van Hercke of Castle Rock, Colorado played forward during this match and scored the goal for the Under 19 Women’s assisted by Jenna Housman of Tomah, Wisconsin.  Cassandra Troy of Bailey, Colorado was the team’s goal keeper.

“What an awesome and unique experience. We are now hooked on floorball!  Very cool uniforms as well!”, says Donna MacDonald of Cheyenne, Wyoming, whose daughter Amy MacDonald plays defense. Amy also plays ice hockey for Team Wyoming.

Coaching the U19 Women during this exhibition game were Daniel Williamsson of Orlando, Florida and Anders Buvarp of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Daniel is the founder of Orlando Vikings Floorball and also the GM of the Youth 16 National Team. Anders is the GM of the U19 Women’s National Team as well as national teams coordinator for USA Floorball.
