USA lose to Slovakia at the World Floorball Championships

In the C-group final team USA faced the Slovakian team.

Both teams came out strong in the first period. Both teams creating chances in the initial stages of the game without scoring. The advantage in the first period would have to go to Slovakia who occasionally peppered Terence Frank in the US goal without scoring.

Instead it would be the US team that scored in the end of the first period when captain Kalle Förare gave the US a 1-0 lead after 18:52 of the first period.

The second period would belong to the Slovaks. Despite team USA picking up their pass and dominating play it was the Slovaks who scored four times in the second period. Among other the ball was redirected into the net off a shot from halfcourt. 1-4 after two.

Coach Stefan Hedlund tried to push his team even further in the second period. The US team responded well but Slovak goaltender Adam Kalcok almost everything thrown at him this game. Powerplay was required for the US to score. With just over ten minutes to go Fabian Länzlinger found Ryan Winkler just in front of the goal, 2-4.

Team USA would get no closer despite a couple good chances. The game ends a 2-4 loss to Slovakia.
