In Team USA's second game of the World Floorball Championships in Gothenburg they faced Japan. A team that plays tight defence and tries to turn the game around fast.
It would only take the US team 1:09 of the first period to score and once again it is the sniper on defense, Michael Binder that scored. A few minutes later Stefan Zimmermann ups the lead to 2-0. Team USA dominate the first period and win it by 5-0. Marc Fischer scores the 5-0 goal with only 14 seconds left of the period, his first WFC goal.
Japan fight back well in the second and keep the scoring down. No goals are scored in the second period.
In the third the US push hard but it takes almost 10 minutes before they score again. Once again it is Stefan Zimmerman who tallies as he redirects a shot by Jesse Andersson from half court.
Japan score as the US team pushes ahead as they want to win by 9 to have a goal advantage going into the game against Slovakia tomorrow. With less then two minutes left Robin Brown scores, making it 9-1. Team USA take out their goalie and play 6 on 5 in the last minute and are very close to scoring through Fabian Länzlinger but the game ends 9-1.
