The Manhattan Kings went through the US Floorball Invitational without a single loss and came out on top as U.S. Champions as well as winners of the entire tournament.
The U.S. Invitational was played at the Harvey School and was the first floorball tournament on their premises and the venue was appreciated by all.
The U.S. Championship was decided on the first day after the round robin games. After winning all five games on the first day of the tournament and thus becoming U.S. Champions the Manhattan Kings faced the Philly Stormers/NJ Blackout team in the playoffs of the U.S. Invitational. They won the semifinal by 7-2. After a tough start the Kings picked up their game and got a decisive victory.
In the final the Kings faced BosDiego that had defeated Toronto United with 5-2 in their semifinal game. As with in the semis the game was a tight one in the beginning before the Kings were able to secure the final score of 4-1.
Jakob Kärrbom was named tournament MVP after 6 goals and 7 assists as a defender while the tournament's top scorer was Ainars Juškevics with 12 goals and 10 assists, both from the Manhattan Kings. The best goaltender of the tournament went to Erin Hardnen from BosDiego.
