WFC2017: Presenting Team USA

In less than three weeks Team USA will face Japan in their first game of the WFC 2017 in Slovakia. As a part of Group C USA will also play against Thailand and Denmark.

After the WFCQ  (winning against Canada) in February 2017 the team started the preparation for the WFC. The staff around head coach Anne Jumppanen selected the squad in several steps. The training camp in Motala, Sweden in August was used to finalize the team for the WFC in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Anne Jumppanen is very happy with the selection: "There are many new and especially young players. The long needed generational shift has finally started. We will see what we can achieve with this team."

The team consists of routined as well as still very young players. Some will attend the U19 WFC next spring. The goal of the team is to reach at least place 2 in group C. After that they want to take game by game and see - what is possible.
