USA Battle Poland for the 5th Place at the World Games!

Team USA will round off their World Games with a game against host nation Poland for the 5^th place today, the 29th of July. The game will be played at 20:00 CEST and can be seen on the IFF YouTube channel.

Team USA have lost both of their group stage games against Switzerland and Sweden but still have a chance to bring home a win from Wroclaw as they face off with Polen.

─ It will be a real close game between two quite similar teams, we are ranked almost the same in the world ranking. We faced each other four years ago in the WFC and that game went to penalty shots so I guess it will be a close game this time as well, says Head coach Stefan Hedlund.

Poland started the World Games with a strong showing against Finland, losing only by 0-5. They did however have a tougher time against the Czech Republic and where down by 0-6 after the first period alone. Poland where able to score shorthanded through Maciej Sienko but the game ended 12-1 in favor of the Czech Republic.

─ For a win tonight we need to focus on our tactics, respect the Polish tactics and players as well as show speed and aggressiveness, says Stefan Hedlund.
