Women's World Floorball Championships Roundup!

Despite technically finishing in 13th place, strong results, amazing individual performances, and excellent support made the 2015 World Championships cycle the best ever for the US Women's National Floorball Team.

Strong Results
The US Women's five wins (WFC+WFCQ) in 2015 tied their win total from 2011, but beat 2011 on goal differential (+5). Team USA went undefeated against non-European competition, with three wins and a +14 goal differential. 2015 also saw the US Women break even against European competition, with 2 wins and 2 losses. The team clearly improved as the tournament progressed, finishing out with two dominant performances.

Amazing Individual Performances
Team USA boasts two of the top three scorers from WFC 2015 and the best goalkeeper outside of Europe.

Marie Häggstrom and Michelle Linhart finished second and third respectively on the points leaderboard. Marie finished the tournament with 17 points (just one point less than the overall leader) on 10 goals and 7 assists. Michelle finished with 16 points on 7 goals and 9 assists. Additionally, Michelle's world-class performance against Japan, including 2 goals, 5 assists, and outstanding defense, was arguably the finest individual performance in the whole tournament.

Brandee Gomez finished the tournament strong against the Netherlands with 10 saves and no goals allowed to cap off a great tournament that included many critical and impressive saves.

Excellent Support
2015 was a banner year in terms of fans, team staff, and sponsorship.

The team enjoyed very visible and audible support from fans throughout the tournament. A record number of fans made the long (and expensive) journey from the US to support the team in person. Both supporters and team looked great in their custom team gear from North Side Sport.

Seven great staff members volunteered their time and expertise during the tournament including newcomers Roger Gerber (tactical magician) and Juho Kojima (video analyst).
