A floorball after-school program was launched in New York this week. The program provides 3-5 graders in the North Salem School District the opportunity to play floorball in an after-school setting with professional instruction.
Nearly a dozen children attended Monday's floorball session in the program that is scheduled to run for 8 consecutive weeks.
The Generation Floorball led program which is supported by PQ Elementary After-School Enrichment and Asphalt Avengers, will serve as a pilot in the Westchester County area, located just north of New York City.
Giving students the opportunity to play floorball in an after-school setting will allow such students to participate in a healthy, beneficial, fun and meaningful activity while trying a relatively new sport. Similar programs are expected to launch soon.
Jonas Laeben, founder of Generation Floorball: "We are currently in the process of setting up several additional floorball programs in the New York metropolitan area, including clinics and leagues. It's fantastic to see the growth and spread of floorball here in our own backyard."
More information regarding the new programs will be announced by Generation Floorball in the few weeks.
