
Team USA played Italy in their second World Floorball Championship game on Monday, November 29, 2021 and won a whopping 16-0. Going into the match both USA and Italy had a loss.
This was a great game for Team USA who produced a total of eight goal scorers. Four goals were hammered in within the first seven minutes. USA hustled hard and closed out the first period 7-0. Italy tried to apply pressure but USA did not let up and ended the second period 11-0. USA continued to score five more goals in the third period, with a final score of 16-0.
Selma Johansson (#57) scored the first goal of the game and ended the match with a hattrick. Other notable achievements include Jenna Hausman's (#11) first-ever WFC goal, and Victoria Olivas (#6) earning her first two WFC goals. Kajsa Krohn (#21) also scored her first-ever WFC goal and left the game with a hattrick. No goals were let in even with two power plays going against team USA and both of Team USA's goalies made great saves. Michelle Linhart was awarded MVP for USA.
This marks the greatest margin of victory for Team USA. Previously the largest point disparity was a 14-2 win against Team Canada in the 2019 Qualifiers.
