MU19 WFCQ and the 2020 US Nationals Moved to January!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the MU19 WFCQ and the 2020 US Nationals have been moved to January 2021 and are set to take place in in Fort Worth, Texas.

USA Floorball and Floorball Canada had previously requested that the International Floorball Federation (IFF) postpone the North American MU19 WFCQ due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This request was approved and confirmed at the IFF CB meeting this past weekend and new dates for the qualifiers are January 6 - 9, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Link

The biggest concern for both organizations is the safety of all participants. Travel restrictions, quarantine advice, and the ability of both teams to adequately prepare for the qualifier are all parameters that have been considered when making this decision.

Since this qualifier was planned as a multievent in conjunction with the 2020 US Nationals, USA Floorball and the North Texas Floorball Association (NTFA) have agreed to also move the 2020 US Nationals to the same weekend, January 8 -10, at the same location, the Elzie Odom Athletic center, home of the Texas open.

Since there is no way of knowing what the situation with COVID-19 travel and gathering restrictions will be in January, this will serve a final attempt to play the MU19 WFCQ and the 2020 US Nationals.

There will be no further chances to organize these two events after this date, seeing as we are already in the 2021 season. Registration for the US Nationals 2020 will open up September 30th at here on our website, usafloorball.org.

The US Nationals 2021 set to take place in Birmingham, Alabama!

The 2021 US Nationals have already been scheduled to be held in Birmingham, AL. This event is planned as the dress rehearsal for The World Games 2022 and is shaping up to be the biggest floorball event ever in North American history. This is also an IFF coordinated event with floorball seminars as well as educational opportunities. The exact dates for the event have yet to be set so stay tuned for separate updates and news regarding this.
