REGISTER HERE!With the new ruleset and schedule from the Competition Committee, the Gerflor rolled out, and the best teams from the US, this year's event promises to be spectacular! The Tournament will start Saturday morning at 8am, and will conclude no later than 3pm on Monday. This should give us plenty of time to get our games in, and have down time in the evening for social and relaxation.
Our goal for this year is at least TWELVE TEAMS - which is what we had in Lynchburg in 2019. Our schedule is seeded so that all teams will play relatively equal teams in pool play, meaning that you should get at least 3 competitive and fun games. The bracket then will seed into a standard format, meaning less-experienced teams will get a shot at a higher seed to test their skill level. We are intending to play a full consolation, so your playoffs will consist of at least a round of 16 match, then either a quarterfinal or a placement game. This means that you will get at least five games over the course of three days.
We're hoping to bring in a Euro referee or two to supplement our growing US referee community. We're also interested in potentially adding a youth tournament to coincide with Nationals. (Note that this would NOT be the Youth National Championship - that happens next month in Orlando)
One other note - this year USA Floorball memberships for all players will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. This means that any player not having a USA Floorball membership will be given a technical red card, ejected from the match, and the team will take a major bench penalty (2+2). Please make sure that everyone that you invite to your roster is invited with the email address that they used to register with USA Floorball. If someone is a member and it's not picking up, let the Competition Committee know and we will fix it.
Final note: You must be a US resident to participate! You do NOT have to be a US citizen, but you must reside within the United States. While all other tournaments held in the US are open to all, the Competition Committee and the USA Floorball Board has decided that the US National Championships will be restricted to US-based players.
